I frequently drive Redwood Rd between Salt Lake and Utah Counties. Though there is a wide shoulder there for bikers, it is not well-lit and sometimes bikers will two abreast. Even though I pay extra attention on that road (especially after those two young Fathers were hit and killed last year while biking to work), I am frequently surprised that I don't see them until just a second or two before I pass them. If I were to drift into the shoulder (or if the biker drifts a foot into the road), I'm scared that I'd clip a biker while going 55 or 60 mph.
Just...if you're a biker, wear super good reflective gear or clothes that stand out during the day. Don't hug the line. And if you're crossing a busy intersection, maybe walk your bike? I don't know...
