I hear you. I just disagree.
I don't think Taysom has been perfect by any means, but I think he's done far better than many on here believe. The stats hardly show the whole story. Dropped passes galore, key penalties that wipe scores off the board, no pocket time, etc. Against weaker defenses (Toledo) he's been strong. Against strong defenses (all the rest) he's at least proved capable of making key plays. He's put us in a position to win just about every game against some good competition in hostile environments.

I truly believe that Tanner would do worse because he's not as elusive and can't buy the extra time he would need. With no time to throw he'd either be throwing into coverage, throwing it away, or taking the sack.

We'll never know for sure, but my opinion is that Taysom is just as accurate as Tanner (according to observers of spring/fall practice), but hasn't been able to show off his accuracy due to ineffective blocking, routes, etc. This doesn't mean he's perfect, and he made a couple of bad throws yesterday (the only ones I can think of he threw on the run), but Tanner isn't perfect either (we seem to believe that he's more accurate than Payton Manning ever was).

The backup QB is always the fan favorite after a loss. Fans are fickle.
