Your missing the whole point.
I see officials do this all the time. There are 2 scenarios that drive me nuts in officiating. BTW, I spent 15 years officiating high school and college baseball, as well as tournaments all over this country. I have even done a handful of national and state championship games. I also officiated high school Basketball for 7 years until the time commitment got to be too much.

Here are the 2 scenarios;

1- when a team gets a big/insurmountable lead. The officials will stop calling many of the fouls being committed by the losing team simply because the winning team is ahead by so much.
This is what happened last night. And I have never seen anywhere in the rule books where officials are told to change the way the game is called based upon 1 team being ahead by a large margin.

2-One team is a little smaller or less athletic/talented than the other team so the officials allow the smaller/less athletic team be a little more physical because that's the only way they can compete and still have a chance.
I'm sorry, but there's no where in the rule books that say size, talent, or athleticism should be taken into account when officiating a game. A push is a push, a hold is a hold, regardless of the players' ability.
