RE: Based on Not Much, My Speculation on Mika
I have no problem with him doing what he wants. It's his life, I'm a fan regardless.

Here's what I don't get though. His improvement from year one to year two (with a two year break!) was dramatic. He went from good to dominant. My question is, has he peaked? If he has, I think he'll be lucky to stick around long in the NBA, and will likely end up playing and succeeding overseas. Going pro now and earning that paycheck one year earlier is a smart thing.

If he hasn't peaked, and if he would wait one more year and improve at his current trajectory, he may be a lottery pick. That is a first contract that would set him up for life, and he would be developed as a guy that a team could build around.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying he WOULD definitely be a lottery pick, but if he could improve in year 2-3 like he did year 1-2, that is a definite possibility. You might say, well the coaching at BYU sucks, he won't continue to improve. If that's the case, why did he improve this year? I don't know, but he is on an upward trajectory, and if that continues, one more year of development before his first contract would make that contract a much bigger one, imo.
