I have a little sister that is on the Autism spectrum. It sounds just like
something she would do. Our family just has to laugh about it. We have dozens of similar stories from her. Thank you for not being a jerk to her. You are right...The world is probably cruel enough to her.
On another note: This hardly describes autism at all. It just happens to be what my sister deals with. She is VERY slow to process critical information.
