That explains a lot, like issues our secondary and some of our LB's had for years regarding basic tackling fundamentals. It also helps explain how a guy like Matt Reynolds can come in the highest (or one of the highest) rated OL recruits BYU has ever had, earn Freshman All-America status, be projected as a 1st round pick in his sophomore year and then by the time his eligibility is up he goes undrafted and has to fight just to be a practices squad guy for parts of a couple seasons. It also helps explain why a guy like Riley Nelson thrived (the guy's cup runneth over with self-confidence, coaches couldn't squash it) while other more talented and highly recruited QB's floundered and never progressed.
You get out of people what you put into them.
