The QBs went under center almost exclusively in short yardage and goal line. Some of the formations may have appeared pro style, but the route combinations were not. This is why Austin Collie was so frustrated under Anae. The WR route tree was designed for spacing, rather than attacking, so as to create opportunities for the TEs and RBs in the passing game. Which, for virtually any BYU WR other than Austin Collie, would typically be good for BYU since WR isn't a recruiting strong point.
