That doesn't make him a great coach. He was very successful when he was surrounded by better big picture-type guys (disciplinarians/motivators), and not so much when it was up to him to be the guy in charge of the big picture stuff. His observations about scheme are still very relevant, despite his shortcomings in other areas.
