The recruiting process is its own animal. Young has no experience with that and it is the lifeblood. That doesn't mean he won't do well. Obviously talent evaluation is huge in the D-League (where he has coached a bunch) and in the NBA. But getting a recruit convinced to come, showing them the love, getting the family on board, all of that is not so easy and might be tough if one has never done it before.
I feel like Young has a much higher ceiling and Burgess a lower floor (as someone else wrote a moment ago here on CB). I am a fairly risk-averse guy. In any event, I'm excited to see what he can do. It is to some extent an out of the box hire and could be amazing. Also cool is that Young seems likely to leave us to go to the NBA if anywhere (and thus not to take our players with him) instead of going elsewhere in college and pillaging us. Which I like.
