The true blue bloods of NCAA bball will always have a draw for the highest level recruits. That won't change regardless of where Pope is. There are plenty of LDS kids who were big-time recruits and ended up not at BYU - and the place they ended up didn't have an LDS coach.

I don't think this changes much. Pope has a big personality that makes him a good recruiter - and that will be a bigger draw than his religion.
