We spent time in Castle Combe (called the prettiest village in England) and Lacock (pronounced Lay-cock). Here is what the day looked like:
We took a 1 hour train to Chippenham from Paddington station in London. We had breakfast in Chippenham but didn’t spend much time there as we quickly headed to our main destinations. We took a taxi to Castle Combe where we went on an incredible hike which ended in the middle of the town which was straight out of a fairy tale. Our taxi driver gave us his card and he became our taxi driver for the day. We just had to call him and he was usually there within 15 min. After Castle Combe we had our taxi driver take us to the 800 year old Harry Potter abbey in Lacock where we toured the abbey museum (one of the fathers of photography, Fox Talbot, lived there) and then walked around a bit. We called Nigel to take us back to the Chippenham where we caught a train back to London in time for dinner. It was incredible and I have such fond memories and would do it again in a heartbeat.
