Nobody would argue that. However, getting a star as a small market team
is like winning the lottery. It often requires winning an actual lottery (the NBA draft variety). It's not something Jazz management can easily control. Stephen Curry was picked 8th in his draft and has turned into a top 15 player in the NBA. Nobody predicted that. You just have to hope that at some point, one of these high draft picks turns into a star. Right now, I'd say Exum is the most likely of the Jazz' recent high draft picks.

What the Jazz can control, however, is finding and developing role players. I believe that success in this area is often the difference between winning a championship and falling short. While star power is the most important ingredient, it often isn't enough. If it was, Lebron would have 5 or 6 rings by now, and Kevin Durant would likely have one or two. So while we wait for the Jazz to get really lucky and land a star, we'll have to be content with them doing everything else in their power to build a respectable roster.
