Percy Jackson may work, but they might be boring for a 14 year old.
At 9-10 my girls enjoyed them; but by middle school they had started to outgrow them. I guess it will depend on the interests of the girl. Same goes for Hunger Games and Divergent series. Maybe LotR? My oldest read them as a 12 year old and loved them?
