I like the focus he is going to take this spring, with throwing receivers open. That is what he will have to do if he wants to play at the next level. Like Steve Young said, "in college everybody was open, in the pros nobody was open". He improved last year and should take another step forward this year. With our tough schedule we really can't afford for him to go down again. In my opinion he shouldn't be running it more than 10-15 times a game (4-6 designated runs and 6-9 scrambles). He needs to become a better passer in order to run less without hindering the offense.
I hope those freshman are ready to go, should it come to that - 2 season ending injuries in the last 3 years.
