Really nice in depth interview with a very well prepared writer Adam Smith on July 30. The writer covers everything you could find out about Elijah Bryant's strengths and weaknesses.
This 32 minute interview described Elijah as:
hardworking, ambitious, committed to the Church, physically powerful, exceptionally smart, good rebounder, good defender (potentially very good), a shooting PG mentality at Elon who can get to the rim, but a distributing PG at his elite prep school in NH (my conclusion from watching a full prep school game online);
OTOH, while he is a big play guy, he can force things too often resulting in bad shots and too many turnovers. His quickness and hops are only average mid major.
One question that the writer struggled to answer is: Bryant's game evokes what NBA player in terms of style? My thought is with more consistently good judgement he could develop the style of Matthew Dellavedova. Big, strong, smart, slow, PG leader who plays to win with energy at both ends of the court. So far he is not careful enough to be like Delly but seems to be close in other ways, but of course is not as effective, yet.
