shot a higher % his first year at BYU than Emery is. (admittedly its just a tiny, tiny difference) Its interesting, Emery averages MORE shots per game than Carlino ever did his entire time at BYU.
It seems a few times a game on a fast break he gets the ball on the wing from the ballhandler in the middle of the court, and immediately pulls up and fires a 3....sometimes it is from 20 feet, sometimes more. I somewhat marvel that he is able to elevate and get the shot off so quickly, but to me the shots rarely go in. (maybe somebody has stats on this) Wish he would not be in such a hurry to launch the shot and would get under control.
He is a very good shooter, over 85% from the line as an example, hopefully his shot selection improves. I also hope he gets more into passing, sometimes it feels to me he is trying hard to get his shot attempts. Its hard to say if somebody is being too selfish but he certainly isn't shy about putting him the shots.
