I'm from the old school where we had Pennies by the Inch (still actually around) and every year on our birthday we would go up and put pennies in the Primary Children's Hospital replica in Primary.
New idea: 15.6 million members of the Church, half of those active. Every year, on a day you have previously chosen, or simply on BYU day (October 16, 1875 - established) we all donate .50 per inch to the athletic department. That means that I would pay $37 (won't break the bank). If you get 1 million fans (parents would have to pay for their kids), paying on the average of $30 and all of a sudden the income to BYU athletics just increased $30 million. Even if we only have 500,000 fans sign up we still increase $15 million which will make BYU sports sustainable even without a Big 12 invite. Let's contact Tom Holmoe and invite him to start BYU day.
