I love Taysom and the athlete that he is, but given his track record of healthy it is hard to put all the chips on him. You have to think about the long term aspects of your team and program.

I have enjoyed watching Taysom play more than any other player in BYU history. The kid is dynamic and has a competitive edge that you would hope every player played with. I take nothing away from Taysom when I say this, but I think you've got to give the nod to Tanner for his future progression and for where the team can be 2-3 years from now.

While I believe this, I would have no problem with Taysom starting or playing at QB this season. I won't criticize at all. I think it would be amazing to see how creative Detmer can be with both players in his offensive game planning.
