If moving by four, I thought BYU, UH, Cincy, and UConn made a lot of sense. UH has been really good recently, has political support, and a large market. UConn is in a very big market, is an elite basketball school, and did win the Big East and go to a BCS bowl, FWIW. Cincy seemed like an easy pick.
CSU, UConn and Houston each have a "big market, small fan base" problem. The only advantages I can give to CSU over UConn or UH would be (1) CSU/BYU would balances CINCY/UCONN)/WVU and (2) it is conceivable CSU could be seen as equal or greater than U. Colorado in athletics with time and $$. Big12 and CSU could "own" Colorado if things went well.
After writing that, BYU, UConn, Cincy, CSU strikes me as pretty reasonable. Ultimately, BYU and any other 1 - 3 teams is fine by me. From the non-BYU four, I actually think the options are pretty good.
