First, I think Whitt is used to the constant punting. That's been a trademark for Utah the past 5 years or so. They're lucky they have such great punting.
But I do think Troy Taylor's offense, if implemented, will have an adverse effect on Utah's lines. It's an entirely different ballgame to pass protect, and Utah's OL wasn't recruited for it, and has never really shown it to be a strong suit. And I also agree that TOs and 3-and-outs will be more prevalent, forcing the defense to step up even more and take even more time on the field. The key to Utah's wins over BYU have been OL and DL play, and moving to a pass attack is a great way to take away your primary advantage if you're Utah.
Now, if they simply move to a more balanced approach and somehow coach their QBs to make the occasional throw, they could be lethal. But that isn't the approach I see Troy Taylor making.
