What would your preference be if you knew that P5 will never happen for BYU?
Because if that's the case (and I think it is) then dragging out the independence experiment is pointless.
Indy was a placeholder for BYU to get into the Big 12. It didn't happen, and now it won't happen, even in 2023.
You can still argue that there is more money and exposure with independence than in either the AAC or MWC, but even that is becoming more and more debatable.
