Two things you can't ignore from last night:
Assists: BYU once again assisted on more than two-thirds of their baskets. That's six times they've done that this season. Last season, it never happened once. This isn't a fluke. It's how BYU plays.

Threes: Elijah Bryant is going to make his. He's shooting just over 40% from three this year, shooting within the offense, and is the bailout guy when the Cougs are late in the shot clock. TJ Haws was shooting under 30% until last night, when he went an encouraging 4 for 9. Haws has to shoot better. Last night he did. Is it a trend, or a blip?

And one thing you CAN ignore from last night: shooting percentages for the opponent. At one point, Illinois State was shooting less than the exterior temperature, and went 0-for-15 from three in the first half. BYU's defense is better than last year, but not that much better. Then they lost focus--almost entirely, on the defensive end--and the Redbirds put up 7 for 9 in the second half. BYU's defense isn't that bad, either. Just one of those nights.

Take the W. Win the next one (should be easy enough). Then we'll talk turkey.
