What if Quincy Lewis is the next Dan Hurley...Would you want him as the next BYU head coach? Obvious answer is yes. I think Burgess would be a good coach, as would many of the candidates discussed here on the board and the six apparently in the running (Burgess, Fuegar, Jensen, Young, Lewis and Peery). Out of that list of six only one has head coaching experience at the college level (Peery), and only one other has head coaching experience period (Lewis). But I can't understand why so many here in the board are discounting Quincy Lewis? As if any of the other candidates have much more experience to qualify them as our next head coach? I think if BYU hires Quincy Lewis, then he will coach BYU in a final four one day. I'm not saying one of the other candidates won't either, I know Quincy's coaching style and he is a complete Master of the game. And Quincy has been a college assistant coach at BYU, UVU and BYU-Hawaii but yet some on here discount him just because he went back to High School. The reality is that Dan Hurley also coached a high school team while Quincy was coaching at Lone Peak, and what Quincy did at Lone Peak rivals what Dan Hurley did over at his high school. So I ask again the question, if Quincy is the next Dan Hurley would you want him as BYU's next head coach?
