What really sucked is with today's tech and AI, there is no reason generative content can't work, but how come nobody
had the guts to say in the playthrough that the pre-rendered worlds are boring and just high-textured retreads of Daggerfall landscapes?
Honestly, where are the rivers and mountains of Skyrim? Random content *can* work, and Starfield renders worlds beautifully, but let's add some canyons, rivers, streams, mazes. Caves that are random rather than the same exact circle.
The updated/new engine shows promise for titles like Skyrim and Fallout and even Starfield expansions IF they stick to hand crafted and scripted content. Some of the quests in Starfield were really good with multiple solutions (way better than any quest in Skyrim), but it's overlooked because of all the mundane stuff within it.
I'm still a fan though, I enjoyed Starfield. I'd play it every day over a repeat of Outer Worlds, which I consider having the same issues as Starfield but on the opposite spectrum: (ie: so linear it was dull).
