Subway has a couple spots that are much easier with short rappels, though I've
done it with just a rope and no harness. I wouldn't recommend that approach.
You do have to have permits for both the Narrows and the Subway.

I’m thinking of hiking The Subway/Narrows at Zion in the fall, from top to bottom. But I have zero climbing experience.
