While watching the game I couldn't figure out why we weren't running Unga more. Utah fans wondered too. It was a pretty universal worry for BYU fans and sigh of relief for Utah fans. The stats just confirm what we saw with our own eyes. It was a really poor game for Anae and Hall. I suspect he's learned.

You can't really explain away only 15 carries for Unga. He had carried more than 20 times 4 other times during the season. Given the futility of the pass game and the dominance by Unga, it makes no sense not to have used him more. It wasn't until a few minutes into the 4th quarter that the game flipped to a "need to pass" game. 41 pass attempts is way to many in a game where passing wasn't working and where we did not have to play come from behind ball until the 4th quarter.
