1) Engaging a third-party, objective blogger about your team and its incoming players is very different from engaging other rabid fans of your own team. Anyone who gets after Ted Miller for not buying into the hype of any incoming PAC players is an idiot and deserves to be called one. But getting after another fan of your own team for downplaying a highly-touted incoming player is fine. You may be wrong in terms of your confidence, but the act itself is acceptable behavior.
2) There is a big difference between being confident about an individual player and being confident about a group of players. While highly-touted individuals underwhelm all of the time, it is rare for an entire group of highly-touted players to fail. Comments like, "Our passing game is going to be good because Blackmon is going to dominate." are unwise. But comments like, "Blackmon, Leslie, Kurtz, Mathews, Apo, Davis, Dye - that's a group that should give us a good passing game." are well-reasoned.
