They'd already offered him once and he not only didn't pan out academically but gave up the game altogether. And BYU had just been recently burned by a number of highly rated JC transfers that never really panned out for one reason or another. Guys like Jesse Taufi, Bernard Afutiti, Tevita Hola, Magnum Mauga, among others. I'd be really curious to see what Star's stats/film was like at Snow, because I don't recall him getting a lot of other offers at the time. Sure, Yewtah decided to take a risk, and it paid off big time for them. But did he have offers from any other schools? Why is BYU the only one who missed on him? And while technically, yes, I guess they did "miss" given the end results, is it really that incomprehensible, to the point that people on this board keep bringing it up?
