I'm not saying that Povey's only challenges were that he was out of position either. But athleticism-wise, he looks better suited to safety vs. corner. We needed corners badly, and he was the best man for the job. I think he deserves mega-kudos for the results he delivered throughout the year, given the circumstance into which he was thrown.
That doesn't mean I'd like to see him matched up against speedy, athletic wide outs, coupled with QBs who can deliver the ball. Povey's a smart, disciplined guy who was athletic enough to fill a specific role--I like him as a depth guy or situational player, but primarily at safety in 2014.
