and seems to be laying down the law -- no more turning a blind eye, no more pandering to primadonnas, no more air-conditioned buses to practices (told the players they're gonna walk to practice in the Texas heat), no more "good ol' boy" approach. He acknowledged that he is not the politician that Mack Brown was -- and it supposedly is not playing very well with many boosters or with Texas high school coaches. He is doing OK with recruiting in the Austin area, but outside of Austin he is not winning the Texas recruiting battle -- doesn't bode well. Will it all result in a favorable turnaround? Too soon to tell, but it might not be a fast or easy transition....
