I had my 3 month checkup with the oncologist today. It's nearly 5 months since I completed cancer treatments. My CAT scan was clean. My Carcinoembryonic Antigen is low normal (and basically unchanged). That's really important because though CEA is not a great measurement for some colon cancer patients, it's been a good measurement for me. It's looking like I'm going to be able to hang around for a long time to come thanks to the miracles of prayer and modern medicine.
A year ago at this time they had just discovered 2 lesions in my liver, making my colon cancer stage 4. I guess it wasn't that long ago that stage 4 was a death sentence. It's been a long, tough haul. I'm going to try to just enjoy life.
