be ranked higher than any other G5 champion. Going undefeated certainly helps but is no longer necessary. As the P5 continue to toughen their schedules, more top-tier G5 teams will have more opportunities to play against the bigs. That also means that there are fewer opportunities to go undefeated. I can see a time when the highest-ranked G5 champion has 2-3 losses.
The selection committee will use many factors, in addition to the major ones (SOS, etc) including whether the game was at home or on the road. In theory, a road loss to BYU is probably worth more than a home win against UNLV.
We'll have too wait and see what happens. No one really knows how this will unfold.
