People keep forgetting that BSU's best teams did that playing WAC foes.....
BYU's schedule is still much better than WAC schedules. Also fans think because "SOS" is talked about it will be really meaningful. But committee members that count mentioned that in the end, record means the most for teams with a reputation. In the end a 10-2 or 11-2 team is still a two loss team. a one loss team stumbles, but a two loss team is clearly beatable at times and not as championship worthy as a team that runs the table or even suffers one early loss (like Wisconsin just did).

With ASH OUT BYU probably should have an easier time with Texas even though it is on the road. The line only moved one point which means Texas QB's didn't matter much to the money line. Folks are at least for now still betting their stakes and ribs. I think the Ash situation is sad, but neutral for BYU. The Y does not know what it will get in a very athletic back-up that can run.

Nevertheless, BYU's going to line up and play 12 games. In the end, a 12-0 any major P-5 level team is going to be in the mix. BYU is a major team. The committee would not overlook a 12-0 BYU, Cincinnati, or San Diego State! That is what they are saying and with good reason. The 12-2 LSU NC in 2007 left an ugly taste in everyone's mouth because it was still a two loss team. Two loss teams just don't belong in the NC conversation as far as most voters, polls and public perception is concerned. The fact that LSU by season end was the best team didn't matter. It had lost twice...was mortal. We want our NC's to be immortal, perhaps flawed by battle (one loss is ok), but never just mortal.
