A few things over the years...

have lead BYU to this position in BYU sports.

1. BYU broadcasting facility: Long range solution for various needs, and a cornerstone to that is to see all the good in the world. Great shows, skits and sports that has a very long reach. Variety at every turn and always in a positive light.

2. True Blue: TV show that started the process of talking BYU sports in a different format from a University. Traditionally this was done by news based corporation so it was at their site with some remote capabilities. TB, in house at BYU broadcasting facility hosting Independence, Media day, etc lead to what I think was two main stays..(BYUSN and AFR)

3. BYUSN: Daily talk of all things BYU sports. I am sure the local media doesn't like it as much, but you knew something was coming down the BYU pipe in terms of sporting context. This will be the format used from now on for BYU sports to air their context. They will get the first news, the inside scoop, etc. BYU wanted this for that very reason. Doesn't discount other media types, just that the direction is going this way.

4. From True Blue to now After Further Review: I think this one show will really be the standard bearer for BYUtv moving forward. I am sure there are other venues out there that talk X's and O's but with what TB, BYUSN have done, AFR will take BYUtv to the next level (on par technically with ESPN, and in some cases a better (front end)). Now the future of using this software could be used for other BYU sports and from the truck or even at the desk of any event. Mobility solutions could be added to this and executed from tablets. Another reason, P5 conferences will be floored after they see what BYUtv has to offer. LHN, SECNetwork HAS NOTHING in terms of depth and delivery.

This is all by design folks. From thought to finish, BYU is setting new grounds on a larger scale. Great time to be alive and watching BYU sports. Set the DVR and pass the popcorn, this will be fun to break down past games....and forecast future games....

I'm actually really excited to see the first showing of AFR tonight at 8pm EDT, 7pm CDT, 6pm MDT, 5pm PDT.
