And the BYU fan base is growing with both new fans and renewed interest from old
ones.

My dad was a major BYU football fan, but after (literally) almost having a heart attack during a game in the 80s, he gave it up - didn't watch another game for decades or read/watch news about it.

I called my parents a couple of weeks ago just to check in on them and talk and suddenly my dad brings up BYU football. I was stunned that he would. Why did he bring it up? Because he now regularly watches BYUtv and so he is exposed to it again.

I suspect that there are many, many LDS members who were, at best, casual BYU fans, who are now significantly more "invested" in BYU. Their numbers are GROWING all over the country (and internationally).

And, based on anecdotal stories here on CB, the non-LDS BYU fan base is also growing.

As you said, it is a good time to be a BYU fan.
