I'm an iOS user, but my father-in-law just asked me why all of his spelling suggestions are in French or Spanish (he showed me a text that he was composing where he typed "Sure" and all of the suggestions were in other languages).

I went to Settings->Language and Input, and everything there had US English selected as the language. Where else would I need to look?
