What we did: we played it smart with three safe running plays that forced UVA to burn all their remaining TO's (I say "safe," but we did manage to fumble the ball on 2nd down, putting Anae in an even worse spot for the 3rd down call). Keep in mind, Taysom was only 13-23 passing on the day. Every incomplete pass would mean UVA would get to keep a TO in their pocket. It's all but guaranteed if he'd called a passing play that went incomplete that CB would use it as evidence of his incompetence.


But we certainly didn't exhibit a killer instinct. The moment was there for our taking. UVA was flat after having watched Hine's KOR followed by a 4th down stop that gave us the ball on their 47. We needed to sweep the leg. A little play action on 1st down followed by a long TD pass to Blackmon sure would have been nice.


We won, but I'm glad Bronco and the team realize we can still do better.
