But in this special case, KC must also step in early enough to build the necessary chemistry with him as floor general. If the team is to be ready for Maui, KC really needs to be working 100% with the team when the coaches take over full time in early October so as to have enough practice time for the team to function with tension free maximum quickness and confidence with him as floor leader. That doesn't mean he has to play in the Blue/White game, but perhaps he needs to see some action vs the exhibition opponents.
On the other hand, KC is right to make it clear he is not going to rush it.
Would love for this team to be 100% prepared to explode onto the national scene against SDSU on November 24, but that is by no means assured at this point and does mostly depend on Collinsworth's early recovery and the health of other key players.
Already, Chatman is questionable at best for November.
