we are VERY lucky to have Billy running the show. He went all-in this year, and I really do think he made the right moves. Our pitching was not going to hold up without all of the help Billy brought in. Kasmir was pitching a ton of innings very soon after coming back from injury, and Gray had never pitched anywhere close to this many innings in his life. Anyway, even if Billy did make some mistakes this year, he makes far more good/great moves than bad ones. He's kept the A's in contention year after year, with far fewer resources than anyone else in the division. A's will be back again next season, right in the mix for another playoff appearance.
