What is it about this season? Is it the woes that BYU faces? Is it because my kids are old enough to want to do a lot of things with them and my wife on Saturdays, other than watch football? Is it the combination thereof? Is it because the Bowl Alliance-BCS-P5 Playoff system has taken the joy out of college football? I have a hard time pinpointing why, for the most part, my interest is down in college football in general.

I think if BYU were undefeated, I would be just as intereseted. So maybe it's the combination that our team sucks right now, we had a fairytale season shipwrecked on shoals of Nick Howell's defensive philsophy, and with all the upsets we would undoubtedly be in the top ten, maybe top five with a serious shot of being considered for the playoff (by default of everyone losing in front of us). I don't know. Who cares anyway?
