By not having Stern unilaterally nullify the Chris Paul trade. I don't know how you write a 4000+ word article about the demise of the Lakers over the last four years--specifically how they can't attract any free agents--and fail to mention the fact that they did manage to land one of the premier PGs in the league, only to have it revoked by Stern.
I'm no Lakers fan, but that was a killer. I'd love to pretend that it's all just Buss, Jr.'s mismanagement and Kobe's ego, but if they have Paul + Howard, that changes the entire landscape.
