Was he sternly rebuking people, or trying to make a joke? And I've NEVER heard him outright criticize fans for leaving early. I have heard him thank fans that stay, and I have heard him say he wished all fans would stay. But I've never heard him say anything like "fans that leave early are bad fans" or some kind of overt criticism like that. The way people react to what he says, you would think he called them some pretty nasty things for leaving early when he has done nothing of the sort.
