I'm down a couple myself this year, from a 12 to just below 10.
My goal is to get to a 5 so it will take quite a bit of work to get there. I might even take a bit of step back for a bit because I need to address some swing plane / swing path issues so things might get worse before they get better initially. I also need to commit to more practice on a weekly basis, especially putting. I don't know about you guys, but practicing putting is a real yawner for me, but I definitely need to reduce my three putts.
I don't track my game like you do, but I improved in consistency with irons and particularly with my wedges. My wedge play improved quite a bit over last year. I use the Pelz system - works well for me because I like it when things are more automatic. This is basically what it is:
