I read the open letter and listened to the radio interview..
Stevenson clearly has his reasons for being upset with the way that BYU football is this season, or even BYU under Bronco as HC. A lot of people share the same sentiments that he does. Reading his open letter reminded me of some of the opinions that are shared here on CB. He could have copy and pasted some of that letter from CB for all we know. He shared that he was unhappy with BYU football. Said he was grateful for Bronco and what he was able to accomplish but that he needs to go. He recommended Sitake to the HC position, and said Howell had no place being the DC and attacked Howell's record. Again, nothing that any of us haven't heard here already from the fire bronco crowd. Stevenson didn't mince his feelings at all.

Brady Poppinga got on the radio and didn't mince his words either. It was less harsh than the language Stevenson used in his open letter (no swear words, which Stevenson's were very mild swear words). He said that Stevenson must have been on drugs, not literally, but as a figure of speech when he wrote his letter. The strongest point that Poppinga wanted to get across was that Bronco has done very well with the program considering the circumstances and that Stevenson has no credibility to be accusing Bronco. He talked about how difficult it is being a coach in college football, especially at BYU where there are things that a HC has to worry about that no other school needs to worry about. That was the harshest point, which is likely why Stevenson was calling him out via twitter.

Were either approaches the best response to the current state of affairs at BYU? I don't think so. They both could have used some PR coaching before going public with their thoughts and feelings.
This is the best I am willing to recall about the situation without listening to the radio interview and reading the open letter again.
