The Pink Hotel and Westin are the only acceptable hotels on Waikiki because they kind of seclude the beach. We stayed at the Hyatt which was really nice but the beach was horrible. Also stayed at the Marriott in Waikiki and it is HORRIBLE. We left early because it was so bad.

Anyway, I would rather go to San Diego than Waikiki. It's a hole. I would try the resorts on the western side of the island. Much less chaotic and much more luxurious. I went to a Luau at one and it was great. Wish I'd stayed there instead.
