1) he vastly overestimates the ability of young assistants being ready for more responsibility. This has resulted in disastrous results on BOTH sides of the ball by promoting quality position coaches to full on coordinator before they were ready.

Of course, you could argue, you don't know who is and isn't ready until they're given the chance to succeed or fail. And players may seem to be providing the requisite amount of leadership, only to see it be insufficient in the face of adversity
