Let's talk reality - in every school football takes a backseat to other things.

Not getting your school work done? The result is bad grades and no eligibility. You better believe that EVERY school has a focus on making sure school work takes a priority so that the players remain eligible.

You've got family trouble? Maybe a family emergency? Name a school out there that won't tell a player to miss practice when there are significant familial issues that need to be addressed. There isn't one.

There might be some who don't care about how you worship God - so long as it doesn't interfere with games or practices. So I guess you've got me there.

But the reality is that Bronco just says out loud what is true for nearly every coach and every player out there. Football isn't the number 1 priority for anyone. At least not anyone who is emotionally stable and worth having as a head coach.

The whole "football is 5th" freaking people out gets old. Bronco is a coach. He loves to win. He hates to lose. He isn't chaining off the practice facility until all of the players have finished their homework, called their mom, and done their hometeaching. This is just silly.
