Gotta disagree with you here. There's a reason so many teams are moving to a
type of offense similar to what BYU is running. I'd say that Oregon and many other teams are doing just fine with run first offenses and the zone read.

You can argue whether Anae has the capability to coach this type of offense or whether we have the type of players to run it. However, I think based on the success of other teams around the country, it's quite clear that the run first zone-read offense can be a very efficient and effective scoring machine.

I know everyone is pining for the good old days with the WCO, but times have changed.

Also, I don't think you can argue BYU has more talent now compared to back then. Maybe more in some positions or in the skill position areas. However, BYU used to put a lot of talent into the NFL, especially at the OL and QB positions. There are many reasons for this change. I know many will blame it on recruiting and coaches, but a lot has to do with the evolution of football in the decades since the glory days.
