Interesting to see the Luke Falk story unfold
He was a rising star as a sophomore in HS at Logan HS and had an offer in hand from Florida State after his sophomore season. Since his parents wanted to see his recruiting blow up, they transferred him to Oaks Christian HS and got him a private qb coach.

That plan backfired big time. After 3 games, he was home sick and benched so he came back to Logan and didn't play the rest of his junior year. All the schools that were after him backed off including Florida State. By the time his senior year was over (even though he played well), even Idaho pulled their offer. (My understanding is he hates BYU ala the Logan way, but would have considered BYU if offered)

Without any decent offers in hand, he was set to go to Cornell but didn't sign an NLI because they don't give scholarships in football. Cornell's coach bolts before school starts, so Falk de-commits.

Signing day comes and goes, Mike Leach enters the picture. Despite having a 4 star quarterback already signed, Leach chases him harder and promises Falk equal reps to walk on. Falk is swayed and shows up. As promised, Falk gets equal reps with the 4 star player. The 4 star player later transfers. After Holliday went down, Falk looks legit with more than 1,000 yards and 8 tds in his first 2 starts.
