I live in WA and have been shopping for a lightly used truck. I was talking to a friend of mine in MT and mentioned to him that I put an offer on a truck near him but the dealer rejected it. My friend mentioned that his wife's ex recently passed. He has the exact truck I am looking for and his kids are selling his stuff. He is going to send me some picks tomorrow.

My question is how do I buy this truck when the person on the title is dead? I'm guessing there is an executor of his estate and that he/she could sign the title over. But, should there be some other document that proves the executor is the executor? Also, should I do the deal at a bank in front of a notary or something like that? I should get a bill of sale too right?
